Rain has finally made a show, and ooh, how the flowers were happy !
The temperatures fell to a cozy fifty nine degrees last night, perfect for opening up the windows, and falling asleep to the sounds of the tree frogs and the crickets.
Not to be outdone the hoot owl adds his own repertoire to the nightly chorus.
Many of the perennials are losing their brilliance, a sure sign that rainfall has been a scarcity.
The Autumn Joy sedum however, is turning a delicious shade of crimson.

It must be such a joy to sit out in your beautiful yard and listen to the sounds of nature. You have a wonderful weekend, hugs, Edna B.
I want to live with you in the beautiful country and sleep with the windows open listening to the night sounds.
A rain can bring things back to life. I like all the different places that you have planted. I just bought a small red clematis plant today. I have to have hope for it as it looks pretty sad right now. You have a lot of good green things at you place and beautiful flowers.
Jo, I think it is truly beautiful around your property. So many wonderful flowers . I love the sounds of the night as summer is nearing. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Beautiful! Your clematis is really lovely. :-)
If you ever can locate one, the Henry DuPont clematis is a stunner....
