Long May She Reign

Her Majesty the Queen's sixty sixth Coronation celebration today.
2 June 1953 at Westminster Abbey, Elizabeth II ascended the throne at the age of 25  upon the death of her father, George VI.
I remember in the late fifties waving my little Union Jack flag as she passed by my infant school in her royal procession, school children lined the streets.
I thought she was the most beautiful lady I had ever seen.
God Save The Queen.

You saw her, lucky you! We sang God Save the Queen at a church service in England once, my father in law picked us up and he said he could hear my voice singing from outside in his car! Hey, I was giving that song all I had, I meant it! God Save the Queen!

She has always exemplified the essence of nobles oblige... a gracious lady
who warrants imitation, if possible. Happy 66th, your Majesty....

She was really lovely. I remember people saying what an amazing complexion she had. She certainly has been an amazing monarch, we've been very bessed to have her.

I remember we made coronation scrap books, we collected photographs of the royal family & stuck them in our books. We also were given coronation mugs, not the nice china ones you get now & tend to keep, just the ordinary every day pot mugs. We used them & I suppose they didn't last long!

Hi! I could have sworn I've been to your blog before but
after looking at a few of the posts I realized it's new to
me. Regardless, I'm certainly delighted I came across it and I'll
be book-marking it and checking back often!

How neat that you were there waving your little flag and seeing the Queen. She was beautiful then and I think she is still beautiful today. I would love to meet her. Of course, I would not be able to say a word. :)

As her family members continue to increase, she sure does like all of family and loves to be queen.
