Turkey Talk

I came across this Johnson Brothers Barnyard King plate at one of the local antique shops several years ago.
One plate all by itself, I could only imagine what an entire dinner service would have looked like.
Each Thanksgiving it takes center-stage on my buffet, the colors on this picture do not do the piece justice, all hand-engraved and made in England.
Barnyard King, what could be a more fitting name.

From our home to yours.....A Happy Thanksgiving.

That is a beautiful plate. Yes a dinner service would be magnificent, but even one is great.

Hi,

I just read your previous post about the British shows on PBS. These days I mainly watch PBS (or YouTube quilting videos). I love the British and Australian shows and wish some of them would come back. I'm hooked on Poldark and the Durrells of Corfu. Both episodes last night made me cry. They are SO good!

Love your blog and the pretty pictures. I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving in your TN home.

JOHNSON BROS "BARNYARD KING" TURKEY 27cm DINNER PLATE....
And..just that one plate is worth...£24:99..($32)..

I must confess, l'm not keen on pattern plates, to eat off of..
As they say, fish should always be served on plain plates!
Mind you, it tastes even better out of newspaper, with a few
chips..! :O).

Willie: Thank you for that piece of information, I just like to display it for the Thanksgiving Season, it seems I have scored a bargain....
Yes, fish and chips wrapped in newspaper, I doubt if that would even be allowed any longer ;)
