Rant

Oliver has been losing sleep at night.
Ever since our wise county officials decided to re-instate the right to sell fireworks law, after eight years of being banned.
There are rules in place but there are always those who choose to ignore them.
They need to fire those cherry bombs off outside those commissioners' homes at three in the morning.
*yawn*

Having lived in various countries and states, the US has some pretty poor rules about fireworks.
And just for the total disrespect of people who know they have neighbors but they still fire them off day and night .. one year my husband said if the next door neighbor shot off any more firecrackers, he would shoot the man with our high powered water hose lol ... I hoped the man would do something so we really could blast him with the hose ..but he didn't :)

Jo, I always think there must be pets still in the closet for days after the fireworks. It's kind of sad, as some seem to be traumatized. Hope Oliver gets along okay. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

After last 4th at the city, I had to go to the farm. They were firing the biggest ones you can buy. I could hear 'sand' hitting my roof, and right across the street. I couldn't believe they would allow it. Emmy, the weenie, is terrified of them. It was like a war zone outside. Makes me mad too.

I'm with you on this. There is a family across the street from us who have a big picnic every year ending with shooting off illegal fireworks, most of which end up on my pavement or roof. If you call the police, no one shows up. At least it's only once a year but the poor animals that are so scared. And it's no fun for me either. It woke me out of a sound sleep.

It's awful! Most of the folks who buy these fireworks, don't have sense enough to use them. A few years back we had bottle rockets (I think that's what those were) landing in our back yard. This was from folks who lived behind our pond on land that joins ours. The guy later apologized. I LOVE that picture of Oliver, surrounded by pretty things.

I soooooo feel your pain, Jo! *sigh* We've had fireworks going off until past 1am for several nights now & it's absolutely horrid. I can't imagine a county banning fireworks and then rescinding the ban. Why would they DO that?!! We live out in the county which sometimes makes people feel "bold" to break the law, thinking they can hide before the sheriff ever manages to get here. They're right!! :-/

If we ever move I think the first requirement will be that fireworks are banned in the area we're considering. xoxo

Our pups are finally starting to recover from the trauma but I'm not sure I am. No sleep trying to comfort the fur kids as mortars are going off overhead. I hate it.

I can't see why people like them, horrid things.

We had a cherry bomb at midnight. I am sure they thought they were cute. I didn't think so. Ours were reinstated also so we had fireworks flying everywhere up and down the street for a very long time.
