My days are filled with therapists of all varieties, nurses and caregivers, and a constant flurry of activity, all centered around a common goal of getting me back on my feet.....literally.
The staff have been amazingly attentive.
My poor kitties Oliver and Tom-Tilly have not quite figured out where I disappeared to, and spend their days rallying around my dearest, not letting him out of their sight.

I hope you received my message too my dear Jo. I didn't see it, but probably didn't have time to post it. Just want you to know how much I care about you.
Take care & enjoy the rest. I dread falling down but that sounded like a really horrendous fall.
I'm glad you're getting such good care! I'm sure the computer will help keep you entertained, too. Hope you get to come home soon!
I hope the million magic healing bubbles got to you- to make you all better

Glad you are receiving excellent care!
Hopefully you will be back on your feet and home to kitties that will be very glad to see you.
Wishing you increasing strength and endurance as each day passes. PT is hard work but well worth the effort it takes. While you're by life's wayside since needs must, do rest and let yourself be cared for because you're surely cared about by folks near and far.
Wishing your family (including 4 legged family members) well, too.
Hugs!
Bless you! Sending you wishes for the quickest recovery. Hugs!
I haven't read the last post yet and i'm so sorry for you.....I hope you will feel better soon...
Good luck and take your time....
Oh no. I am so, so sorry, for I have done the very same thing. Do you have time to read my story?
On January 25, 2007, I stepped out of my house early Sunday morning to get the morning newspaper. I knew that there was patch of ice somewhere hiding under a very thin layer of snow. I guessed wrong and my foot slipped. I fell hard, but didn't hit my head on the cement step, thankfully. I began yelling for help. My husband would never hear me for he was asleep on the second floor of the house with his c-pap machine on, making enough noise that I wouldn't wake him. Lucky the neighbors heard me yelling. They came over and helped get me in the house and called the paramedics.
I suffered a bimalleolar fracture of my left ankle which required two screws on the inside of the ankle and plate on outside of the ankle, secured with six screws. I was in the hospital for 5 days, mostly because the insurance company could not decide where to send me. I needed physical therapy, as you, so they sent me to a nursing home, where they really didn't know what to do with me.
Ten days in, I was begging to go home. The doctor reluctantly sent me home where I spent 15 weeks in my family room. The house was multilevel with stairs to each level, so I couldn't navigate the stairs. My husband set up the day bed in the family room and my daughter bought me a lap top, which saved my life. I rediscovered how to crochet. I went to physical therapy, my mother in law came at lunch to feed me. I couldn't use crutches, so I used a walker and a wheel chair when I left the house. I missed and entire semester of work. I did have a small bathroom, but no shower.
Good news. I healed. The ankle is good as new. Sometimes it hurts a bit, but while it took longer than normal to heal, it works. I didn't blog then, but I did lots of research on how to speed up the healing process for bone that wouldn't mend itself, not finding results, but lots of those who suffered the same break. I began not to feel so alone. Lots of trips to the doctor, a heavy walking boot that I couldn't walk in, physical therapy three times a week. My husband was wonderful, learning how to cook, cleaning, doing laundry, taking time off of work to take me to therapy. He applied for time off from work through the Family Leave Act. (FMLA).
As your rug so aptly says, "keep calm and carry on." Your blog friends will help you get through this injury. I'll be checking in. Good luck.
Sending you encouragement in your trials dear Jo and wishing you a continuing speedy recovery.
Jo, I bet the cats aren't the only ones who miss you. I am praying you are doing well. Bless your sweet heart. xoxo,Susie
