Hooked.

I love hand-hooked rugs.
They remind me of the carpets my parents had fitted in our home when I was growing up, usually a timeless floral pattern, manufactured by the Axminster Company, Royal Carpet Manufacturers to Her Majesty the Queen.  http://www.axminster-carpets.co.uk/

This particular rug is one of my favorites, and despite the cats using it to test their claw-skills every once in awhile, it has held up beautifully for over twenty years.

It is indeed very beautiful! I would have a heart attack if I saw my cat sharpening her claws on that beauty! :-)

That is beautiful! I won't get such beautiful floor coverings because I use a wheelchair. If they were on my floor, I'd have to pick them up and move them before going across them. That is a work of art. Your home is just lovely.

That is a truly gorgeous rug, Jo. Stunning and so very English too.

Yes, I have fond memories of rugs at my mother's too. Mind you, they were not hung up though. I loved the old Oriental rugs she had. My guess is they've all been tossed in the bin skip over the years form too much footwear, moths, floods, etc. Ah, yes, all the more reason to hang them up!

An amazing piece of workmanship, and having tried my hand at rug hooking, I know that it must have taken a long time to make, just stunning !!

It's a beauty. Can't use them because of dogs so I am selling some in my booth. I saw some small pottery house pieces the other day and thought of you. I'm making myself not buy any.

The rug is just beautiful! It's hard to believe that it's 20 years old because the colors are so bright. I know a lot of work went into it. It must have taken a long time to make. A real treasure.

Before we left England my new husband and I went touring around the country a bit. We went through the Axminster factory and outlet store. Wow......what wonderful work they do. They would last a life time I am sure. There was another too but I cant quite recall. We also went around some of the China places and wished we could have got some of those samples too...........no money and moving to a different country, unsure of everything.
That is a beautiful rug. What a treasure
