The cooler temperatures, and three days of non-stop rain, have brought planting days to an abrupt halt.
Trays of Petunias and herbs, Rosemary, German Thyme and Sweet Basil waiting to be planted in the warm Spring soil are now stacked inside the potting shed.
My dearest managed to clean out the pond before the rains came, and informs me that the pump has gone kaput, and so a trip to the hardware store is now on my list.
Sadly, there isn't any sign of our resident frog Igor this year, I 'spect he's gone on to greener pastures.
To make amends the woods are a virtual orchestra of croaking Tree Frogs, day and night, their amorous calls echo through the trees.
Cold, wet leaves
Floating on moss-colored water
And the croaking of frogs-
Cracked bell-notes in the twilight.

Igor looks wonderful, may be he still comes back in the cleaned pond.
Maybe a new frog will return and that would be great. I don't get frogs every year. Just some years one will show up for a while. Your photos, though wet, look great.
I love the frog serenades. We have them, too, in the springtime. I know all about the rain keeping things at bay. But the planting will come, sooner or later. :-)
Frogs in Sydney are rare these days, I remember when i was a kid every puddle had tabpoles but now only mozzies, I do miss the sound of them.

I think the "rainy season" has begun! It certainly does limit the time working in the soil.:)
I hope froggy comes back!

Oh Jo, it's been raining for days here and will the rest of the week. I do hope it gets warm and sunny soon. I too have noticed all the peepers singing and have seen many bullfrogs. I have even seen a few young snakes around, so I need to hurry and get in my goldfish pond and clean it out before one decides to call it home.
Love the pictures. We have an assortment of frogs here. Some were décor around the pond. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Gloomy here too. The weather map shows thick clouds and rain through next Monday. I'm dying to get back in the garden. Hope Igor comes back. Your place is just beautiful!
Rain, Rain, everywhere! Go away! Sorry you must wait a bit longer to plant, it'll be time soon, I so hope! Your photographs are amazing, so crystal clear!

We have had a week of rain also! Thanks so much for your kind remarks on my post! I am having a better day today!
HI! Jo, Looks like Igor is missing if you haven't seen him in a while. the soil will be ready for planting after the rain and the plants can come out. Lovely photos of the trees in bloom.
