Sad Days

Our beautiful ginger Oliver cat has been missing for three days now.
We are busy putting up posters and knocking on neighborhood doors.
I can only hope he has gone walkabout, and will return soon.
Our hearts are heavy.

Jo, I know you are devastated and I am so sad for you. I think he is coming home soon. He loves you as much as you love him. Maybe on the roof or up a tree. It is amazing how they can climb up, but seem to forget how to get back down. Look up.

Oh Jo, I am so sorry. I will be sad and worried about you until he comes home. My neighbor had a tom cat that wandered off and came home after several weeks. You will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so very sorry to hear this, Jo. I am hoping that he will show up, scruffy and anxious for your love. My heart is heavy for you. :-(

Oh, Jo! I am so sad for you. I hope he will reappear very soon. Has he done things like this before? Hugs!

Another thought Jo. While knocking on doors, ask if perhaps they haven't opened their garage doors in a few days. He might have chased a mouse and got closed up.

Oliver has never strayed overnight before, even when he was a Tomcat. I've knocked on doors, and put up signs around the area, but it's pouring with rain today and makes taping signs to poles very difficult. He is listed on our local Pets Lost and Found Facebook page, and lots of folks kindly looking out for him.
Sadly, it's the price one pays, for not keeping him inside 100%.
Thank you for your kind words and suggestions, I've not given up hope.
Hugs,
~Jo

I'm so sorry. Praying for a miracle that he returns safe and sound! My Grey went missing about 2 months ago. It's so sad not knowing what happened! I knew how heart breaking it can be.

I've had cats be gone for 5 days before so don't give up hope yet!

Our Tiger went missing for a week several years ago. He came back at two in the morning, scared but unharmed. I pray Oliver does the same.

oh, my heart breaks for you. I still miss Next, after so many months.........I hope and pray you find him, and that it's just a fluke. Could someone have taken him in, and be keeping him in???
Oh, please let us know. I feel so bad for you.
He is such a beauty.

Oh Jo, I am so very sorry. Oliver is absolutely my favorite cat other than my own. I will pray for his safe return.

Have you checked the potting shed and any outbuildings? Our Tishia went missing overnight and we found her locked in a closet in the basement. She never cried, even when we called her name.

Our Blackie left home, we looked every where and one night a week latter he showed up at the back door. Unless he is in some ones house locked up he will be back.

This is very sad news. Sometimes cats do wander and get shut in some place. We hope that is the case with Oliver. I know the sick feeling of a missing cat. Hopefully he will return soon. If it helps, I will worry, too.

Have you checked your outbuildings and those of your neighbors? We have had lost cats that got in our storage room outside and also in neighbor's storage buildings. Praying he shows up soon safe and sound!

Yes, outbuildings checked, vehicles checked, crawlspace checked, I've still to do some checking with the neighbors, some of those were not home today. Tomorrow I start over knocking on doors and asking around.
Thank you for the suggestions, they are much appreciated.

If your local town has a facebook page, post on there about him. Also check to see if the local animal control has its own FB page and see if they've posted a pic of their recent cats. My town in TN has both, and I'm always seeing happy stories of owners and pets reunited through there. Go check the animal control center in person as well. Good luck! Hope he's safe and home soon!

I am so sorry to hear this. I would be devastated if any of my cats were missing. I hope he shows up soon. Hopefully someone kind has taken him in and he will be found soon.

Yikes, where is he! Maybe he has his nose out of joint regarding your new arrival! It's probably nothing more than a protest. Don't worry yet. He's a male, just gone walkabout ( I hope) 😢

Oh I am so sorry that has to be a big worry for you. I know its very hard when you just don't know. Cats are strange though, I remember having a Ginger cat many years ago. He disappeared, and one day walking home I saw him sunning himself in someones window just down the road from us. Cats do what they want to do. I hope you find him safe and well

I do hope Oliver comes home soon. Our cat went missing but was found in someone's shed. She'd wandered in while the door was open. Do ask you neighbours to check their outbuildings.

I'm sorry to hear about Oliver's disappearance. I can imagine how worried you are about him. Just keep remembering that cats do walk off and do often come back safe and sound.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that he turns up soon and you all can celebrate a happy Thanksgiving together.
