Snow today !
It's predicted for much of the coming week, with no more of the sixty degree weather we have been enjoying these past few days.
Such is the pleasure of living in the American South, one day wearing flip-flops, the next furry Ugg boots.
I've made a hearty fifteen bean soup today, chocked full of country ham, celery, onions, tomatoes, carrots, garlic, rosemary and chili spice.
Served with a slice of buttermilk cornbread, it's the ideal comfort food, on a Winter's day.
Come join us for a bowl.
We'll leave the light on for you !
If you feel like making your own pot, here's the original recipe.
I also add smoked sausage ( of your choice)
Fresh Rosemary (1tablesoon) crushed
Two chicken stock cubes
Two sliced carrots
Two stalks of celery

Oh how warm and friendly! Looks wonderful!
The soup sounds so delicious for these cold winter evenings here in TN. Might try to this next week when the temps are dropping close to 0 .... brrr!
Have a great weekend!
Here we had home-made split pea soup, and it was delicious!
That looks a delicious recipe and I wish I could come over and have a bowl with you :) We have snow here too but only one to three inches. Made for some tricky driving in the neighborhood. The main roads were clear. We had to take a nephew to the airport today so that he could join friends for a week in Southern California, sigh ;)
ohhhhh the soup sounds sooo wonderful!

Colorful pot of beans !
A fine set of pictures, giving me the sense of being right there with you! :-)
Love that soup! Yes, we are definitely in for some cold temperatures. It is 15 degrees F here this morning with record lows predicted for Monday night! Happy New Year, and stay warm!
Hearty soup on a cold day makes me warm inside. :)
An Arkie's Musings
So yummy. Yes they're predicting cold and snow for us too. I'm already so tired of this stuff.
Mmmmmm! Looks delicious.
Good way to stave off this freaking freeze we're in. Tonight is lasagna and a lap full of seed catalogs. I just cannot bear this winter. If I could just figure out a way to spend winters in the tropics.
