Nobody Left To Love Me

Someone always leaving
and never coming back.
The wooden houses left too long abandoned
to turn old and gray.

Weeds pushing apart......
Trees gone wild,
Fields taking over.
Shredded curtains blowing in the wind.

Beams of weathered wood......
No longer able to hold in
The soft heartbeat of Home.

I bet this house was lovely in it's day. It's sad to see them sitting so empty and forlorn.

I think these old houses are so beautiful. I live in a house that was in this kind of shape, once upon a time. They are savable, with a lot of work.

How I would love to have this type of house, such a shame!

Gosh... there are so many beautiful old houses standing empty like that around here. I want to bring them all home.

That's just the sort of house I'd love to love. Loads of character, just waiting for someone to give it back a heart.

Remind me I said that when I complain about all the work I've still to do on ours..

What a great old house. I can see it all fixed up.

It is still a beautiful old home, Jo. I love the poem, too.

I, too, feel sadness when I see what appears to be a lovely old abandoned house. I can imagine what the stories would be if the walls could talk.

I see these old homesteads quite a lot. Seems the animals take up residence at least.

What a beautiful old house, is it near you?

I always feel so sad looking at abandoned houses:( I always say if I had money not to be spent on me I would buy old houses and rehab them.....This one, I can see myself on that porch......

I know I've said this before to you, but I find a home like this such a waste, and they do seem so very lonely.
