Autumn Cottage

Autumn is in the air, and for the past few days we've been led to believe it is already upon us.
Cool mist-filled mornings, and even cooler, crisp-laden nights.
The trees are beginning their changing of color, yellows, oranges, and reds.
The songbirds now busily returning to their winter homes.

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

To Autumn : John Keats 1795-1821

I didn't remember how much I loved fall. I saw BRIGHT STAR, about Keats and loved that film.

Oh my you have just brightened my day, I thought I had lost your blog forever. I must have had a glitch or something on my computer. I have missed your blog so very much and today you miraculously reappeared. Thank goodness now I just have to catch up on all your blogs. Thank goodness for miracles!!!!

P.S. on the ploughing photos my Uncle Norrey had beautiful Perceron horses and they ploughed and won many trophy's at all the ploughing matches and fairs.

Perfect verse and post for today--There is a feeling of fall in the air and I'm cleaning out my garden and am ready for the parade of colors to begin!

Enjoy your day!!

I do love this time of the year and one of my many favorite things is to be able to open the windows when I am sleeping.

Jo, I love your pictures :):) Reading the Keats poem..reminded me, I bought a book of his poetry for my children's father, when we were young and our girls were so small. I miss him so much, as he has passed on. Thank you for that quick memory of him. Smiles, Susie
