A Walk In The Woods

Now is the time of the illuminated woods.......
when every leaf glows like a tiny lamp.

~ John Burroughs

Oak trees come out of acorns, no matter how unlikely that seems.
An acorn is just a tree's way back into the ground.
For another try.
Another trip through.
One life for another.

What a sweet verse--As much as I love trees, I never thought of the new ones that way.

I hope you're enjoying your day!

I especially love the geese with the deer at twilight. What is the flower pictured just above that one?

Barbara, the flower is the Purple Passionflower, it is the Tennessee State wildflower (Passiflora incarnata ), the Iris is the state's cultivated wildflower.
It can be grown as a vine, covering a garden arbor.

That is one of the best pictures I've seen lately of those magnificent trees. I've tried to capture them, but you did, you really did... :-)

All these beautiful photos and verses have touched my heart.

I have a baby oak tree growing.
Maybe the acorn traveled for miles to come to my house to grow.
Maybe it came from your world.

Lovely post.
Quiet paths to walk. The deer's eye's glowing remind me of those eye's glowing along the road side when we travel at night.

I see you have night visitors too! A Dear ate off a new tree in our yard last night, grrrr!! Our trees are a rare commodity here it's dreadful when a dear eats one that has survived for four years. Love your dense forest, and lush flowers!! Beautiful!
