"Mine is the Month of Roses; yes, and mine
The Month of Marriages! All pleasant sights
And scents, the fragrance of the blossoming vine,
The foliage of the valleys and the heights.
Mine are the longest days, the loveliest nights;
The mower's scythe makes music to my ear;
I am the mother of all dear delights;
I am the fairest daughter of the year."
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

A beautiful poem and photo to start a new month! The blue flowers are so pretty.
Beautiful, Jo! That blue is so brilliant, the poem is so perfect. Happy weekend! :-)
Yes---for sure this is the month of ROSES ---and LILIES and DAYLILIES.... I don't care much for summer (the heat and humidity) but I do love the flowers of summer.
Can you believe that the rain fizzled out last night and we got nothing? It is drizzling now --but we NEED some good rain. Thank Goodness for nothing severe though...
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Jo, It is hard to believe that June is here. I sit here wondering,"where did May go?" It went so very fast. Hope you enjoy a heavenly summertime in your parts. I love June....many years ago I married my sweetheart in June. He has long gone to heaven, but my love it still here. Funny the different loves that one person can have, don't you think?Smiles, Susie
And we will have some roses too if the deer don't eat them all.
I must listen to "my song" once more before I goes to the ocean tomorrow!

June is indeed my favorite month.
What a beautiful tribute to the month of June. I really like the bicycle which is part of your landscaping.
Dad's birthday June 2nd (1908-1992), my first marriage June 20th (1964-1981), Don's birthday June 21st (1925-2009)...lots of bittersweet memories for the month of June!
Along with Father's Day, the longest day of the year and the beginning of summer!
As always, your photo and poem is a real smile bringer.
My favourite poet
