May Flowers

We've been experiencing hotter than normal weather for this time of the year, record-breaking weather to be exact.
The flowers need to be watered every afternoon, since the rainfall has been slight to none.
There is hope of a late evening shower, thanks to the remnants of tropical storm Beryl, I'm keeping my fingers crossed !

Oh Jo, we too are getting summer's heat too early. I am letting the water drip on my newly planted hydrangeas, replacing my old ones killed by last summer's heat wave. I can't go out in my garden during the day now as it is too hot.

Such lovely pictures. I looked for Mrs. Wren in her nesting box but couldn't see her. Then I figured she must be inside, where I would be with temperatures that hot. Right now at noon here it's 50 deg F. And there you are setting temperature records. It would be nice to have an average! :-)

Gorgeous flowers, such pretty photos. Thank you for your well wishes on my Achilles problem. I have my foot propped on a cushion as I type. Very hot and humid here too so wouldn't be going out for a walk even if I could.

Lovely. I hauled the hose pipe around the garden yesterday evening because there was no rain in the forecast and then we had a thunderstorm!!!

Another post with lovely pictures!

Incidentally, it was your mention of the Renaissance Fair that took us to Triune this week-end to check it out! We stayed with our oldest daughter in the "big city," and she took over driving duties for all of us on Saturday. There was great attendance, in spite of the heat. Thank you for mentioning this event. Our daughter had never attended, though she has visited Arrington Vineyards more than once, a visit we also made.

I clearly need to add delphiniums to my list of plants to add to the garden next year!

The delphiniums are spectacular.

We are finally warming up - 60s by day, low 40s by night.
