"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells."

Really enjoyed this! Isn't autumn a wonderful time of the year.
Another perfect fall day here in Virginia!! The plus side about the cooler weather is our stink-bugs have gone into hiding!
Love that poem. The picture is just beautiful. Autumn is alive and well :)

cheers to your autumn photo. its all we have, none down here
Lovely and cool here in Virginia, too! We're seeing the beginning of color in the trees.
We've had nearly 8" of rain in the last week!
As always, I love the picture and poem.
Hugs!
so nice!1I think you are one of the best photographs i have ever seen..thanx very much for such beauty to watch..wish you a good sunday
Our weather in my part of southwest VA is cool and rainy; trees have yet to turn but expecting this autumn to be the Best Ever!
Lovely cool day today! May have to turn the heat on tonight. We still haven't had much rain, so the leaves are falling from dryness, but I can see some color. It isn't going to be glorious like it has been some years.
Nice picture!
Wonderful! I love this photo and the poem Jo, thank you. For the first time in quite a while, I thought of reaching for my woolly socks this morning :)
I like both the poem and the picture. And I will confess that I'm enjoying the start of Autumn.
Nice. Yes fall is here. Looking forward to it.
Just beautiful. We had some honey in the kitchen that I was going to discard but instead of pouring it down the drain we put it outside near the beehive in our corn crib. It didn't take long until that glass was empty and it was covered with little bee footprints! We also put water out for them during the dry spells. They're getting ready for winter too! Take care.
Maura :)
