A Cup of Tea
When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.
There is magic in its' fragrance,
There is solace in its' taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.
And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.

I stop all tea and coffee at 3:00pm in order to be able to sleep at night! But I surely did enjoy it earlier...

Jo, pray tell us, how do you take your tea? I think with lemon and honey, but then again, maybe a spot of Devon cream... I only drink mine iced, unless I'm sick, then it is with lemon and honey. Earl Grey perhaps?

Coffee is nice -- but nothing beats a good cup of tea. However, I confess I am lazy and drink coffee because it is easier for me to make and, at work, is more readily available.
Yet, still, for those special times, give me a cup of good tea!
I have to have my cup of coffee in the morning, but I really enjoy my tea in the afternoon.

One of the first things I noticed when I moved here was the tea/coffee aisle at the grocery store was almost all tea and just a little coffee. The exact opposite of the same aisle in the USA. Also do you drink iced tea now that you are in the heart of sweet tea country? And also how do you get the tea stains out of ceramics? Just wondering! Happy tea drinking.

Donna: The way most English people drink tea, is with milk (not cream), and if you prefer sugar, then that also. I take mine with just milk, no sugar. The "cream" even though we refer to milk sometimes here in the South as cream, the true cream is reserved for coffee.
Sunny: I should think you enjoy a nice cuppa, being raised with such habits and all :)
betsy: Extra lip is to hold the teapot whilst pouring, this way you don't get scalded.... neat isn't it ?
Russell: I always tend to drink coffee at work. Don't ask me why, I think it goes back to what you are saying....just easier than messing about with the milk etc.

I've just come in after 'a hard days night' as the Beatles put it, I've got my favourite willow pattern bone china cup, full of my favourite English breakfast tea (has to be loose leave) and I sit down to catch up with some old friends. All I can say is SNAP!

midwesttomidlands: I do drink iced tea, but my choice is hot tea, winter or summer. Try a little bleach in the cups to remove tea stains.

I know it's a refreshing drink and good for the soul, so why don't I like it?
Coffee is lovely in the morning and when you're out shopping and need a bit of a sit down. But there are times I just can't face a cup of coffee and I have nothing else to drink. Why can't I like tea? I just hate it when I really want to like it.
