Announced by all the trumpets of the sky,
Arrives the snow, and, driving o'er the fields,
Seems nowhere to alight: the whited air
Hides hills and woods, the river, and the heaven,
And veils the farmhouse at the garden's end.
The sled and traveller stopped, the courier's feet
Delayed, all friends shut out, the housemates sit
Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed
In a tumultuous privacy of storm.

Great pictures. Glad you're snug inside during this time. Don't forget to feet the birdies, though!
I think it's headed my way!! Warm hugs!
Big Snow Storm here also, Jo... I LOVE it.

Betsy
I saw on tv where Tenn was getting snow.. down here in Alabama.. not so much. but it sure is cold.
Snow is heading our way too. When we were out this evening the moon had that beautiful glow around it, yes snow is on the way :) Stay snug and warm.

Make more soup, drink lots of tea and eat scones and it will go away someday.
Lovely poem!
The snow is headed our way, due to start in about 2 hours and I look forward to being "enclosed in a tumultuous privacy of storm!"
Snow, boots, flinging bird seed, hot chocolate!
Stay cozy one and all!
I'm sure the birds are thanking you.
Keep warm.
Sunny :)
Lovely. . . and if you are going to make more soup like the chicken noodle soup from the other day's post, I'm coming for a spot of tea, scones and another bowl of soup!
Great post, considering that a large portion of the country is dealing with snow this morning.... Wow.
In Connecticut, we are hearing about your storm. Super cold weather here is keeping the storm from reaching us. February is not far away.

Hey Jo! No snow here just wet, windy and cold! A great soup day! I'm trying to catch up with everyone and everyone seems to be knee deep in snow! HA!
My daughter had to go to Memphis Thursday and it took her 7 hours to get back to Nashville yesterday!
She said it was the scariest drive she ever made! Wrecks everywhere!
Sounds great that you got to meet your blog friend! Someday, you and I will meet! If you want to head South, I have the GWTW room almost ready for guests!! xoxo
So it finally made it to your neck of the woods, today we have snow and sun, a fun combo.
Such a beautiful white blanket! We got more ice than snow but I think it's still beautiful. I love bird feeding too. Lovely pics.
The pictures are beautiful. We love feeding the birds too. Glad to hear you all snuggled onthe col and stormy night!!

The storm has left us snowbound, so we are enjoying a roaring fire in the fireplace and a good cup of tea. So snow and ice aren't all bad!
Love this. Beautiful pics to go with beautiful music.
We got the storm after you!
I read your profile and we like the same things, i love all things old including people and all things animal. Loved the snowball fight on tody's post, and your snow bound bird houses, but what i like the most is all the pictures on your side bar, i looked at every single one of them and it took me a while. i will be back to check out your archives.
