A BIG Snow On A Small Island.

England is experiencing almost three weeks of snowfall across the entire country, a rare and disabling occurrence.

Students are out of school, airports and motorways are closed, power is disrupted...
According to the BBC news, the streets are literally deserted, with people not able to travel.
When one London bus driver, was asked about his view on the enormous amount of snowfall, his reply: 'It's a right " How's Your Father"....... that's the British !

Yikes! I saw what you put on Star's post, and I'm glad she's safe, hoping that our other good friends are doing all right too!

Ours is because of the jet stream extending down into almost Mexico. On our side of the earth it is messed up and I bet it really is affecting you over there. I didn't realize you were on your third week of it. It is a beautiful scene that you probably only want to remember in pictures. Be careful out there and keep warm.

Ok, I just wrote that as if you were over there. It is a long winter. I was thinking I was writing to Alan Burnett a friend who lives right there. Sorry.

I did a blog post on our Britain too. My parents in Hereford were under blankets on the sofa today. I told my Mum "For goodness sake turn up the heater and worry about saving money another day!"

Yes I spoke to my mum in snowy Bucks tonight and she said it's the worse she's seen in 30yrs! She doesn't reckon she'll get out until next week! Love the quote lol.

Gorgeous shots!
We are used to that kind of snow up here in the U.P. of Michigan, but I feel sorry for all the other states in the U.S. and other countries for this deep freeze because they don't have the resources to clean the roads and to stay warm.

Hopefully their stiff upper lip won't suffer frostbite!
That is a lot of snow for sure!

Yup, and it's bloody cold as well. As a Canadian, I'm quite proud of the cold, as if I conjured it like a magic trick. But the roads and pavements are a mess. Scotland's lone polar bear (I've forgotten her name) was in the newspaper yesterday, as she flounced around in the snow. Apparently it's only the second time she's seen snow since she left Canada. At least she is having a good winter.

Yes, it looks just like your pictures where I am. I am hoping to get into work today, if the buses are running.

Yes there's a lot of snow. The big problem is that the streets are not cleared and salted like they were 30 years ago. I remember that even the footpaths used to be salted ... now you slip and slide. The novelty of the winter wonderland is starting to wear off a little now!

That's incredible to see so much snow in England. Last night on the evening news I saw a special report about this.

Here in Iowa we are having another blizzard today. Lots of snow, wind, ice and cold. Such winters are not uncommon in the Midwest, but that does not make them any easier.

I think Tennessee sounds like a pretty good place to be!

Take care.

While in Chicago last week we got to play in the snow. For a week it was fun as we were on vacatio: however, going on three weeks of it when you are trying to live normally is a hardship indeed. My niece lives in London so my prayers are with her and everyone there.

I am colder just reading about it all. We had little snow in our part of Arkansas but more on the way and more cold. I hope Al Gore is warm.

It's hard to believe that England is getting that much snow.

It's hard to believe the UK is getting so much snow - especially daarn sarf. It was always Yorkshire etc that got the worst of it but this is bad! Must be the new ice age. Before long there will be winter carnivals on the frozen River Thames again!

We've had a bit of snow (Wales) but the temp has been really low (for us) -16c last night and at noon today -9c.

The BBC news is over doing it a bit. Where we live we had about 2in of snow on Dec 23 which lasted less than 24 hours. Then it snowed again on Jan 5. This time about 3in which we still have on the ground. I know that we have got off lightly but the bottom line is that the UK just is not prepared for this sort of weather.
