Winter weather has set in, cold and blustery.
There are whispers of the "s" word in the forecast, the hearth is lit, candles and twinkly lights glow.
A portly kitty sleeps.
"Surely everyone is aware of the divine pleasures which attend a wintry fireside; candles at four o’clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair tea-maker, shutters closed, curtains flowing in ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind and rain are raging audibly without."

It's amazing how things written in 1796 ring with a vivid truth that we can understand and identify centuries later. The illustration is adorable.
Yes it is too windy and cold to be outside. I walk to the mail box and back and that is it. I can get more decorations up when I am frozen inside.
Oh, I absolutely love that picture. You can almost feel the warmth. It has been too cold and windy here too.
Bramble Hedge is so lovely! Love that picture...
Have a great week & take care!
