The Nesting Season

The ground is soaked from a day of rain. Much needed rain, for which we are grateful.

I've been busy running errands today, ticking off my to-do list.
Hearty soups have now become the meal of choice.
Nights are noticeably cooler, and darkness falls before the clock strikes five..
Candlelight glows.
The nesting season begins.

Much as I miss the longer daylight, I can welcome the
"nesting season" of quietude and calm.

I love some candlelight in the twilight times but then it's so dark I think it is time to go to bed. Of course, that's alright, too.
