And The Snow Came.
Announced by all the trumpets of the sky,
Arrives the snow, and, driving o'er the fields,
Seems nowhere to alight: the whited air
Hides hills and woods, the river, and the heaven,
And veils the farmhouse at the garden's end.
The sled and traveller stopped, the courier's feet
Delayed, all friends shut out, the housemates sit
Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed
In a tumultuous privacy of storm.

It's beautiful!! We live in Illinois and that is more snow than we've had all year. Enjoy!
all we have gotten is spitting , to far south
Your house looks lovely with the snow, so cozy. We're having a sunny day but very cold.
Jo, I have missed some of your posts, went back to read. I love the odd chair. The view from the lace curtained window, makes me wish I had that window. :) The moon was interesting too. Snow...I am not a fan of snow. It snowed here and I am already tired of looking at it. LOL. Blessings to you, stay warm and safe. xoxo, Susie
So pretty with all that lovely snow! Thanks for the photo. :-)
How beautiful! It's nice to have a snow day when you don't have to go out in it! Stay warm and safe!
Hello Friend, and Happy, Happy Belated New Year!!
I do love my snow-days and I do love this verse, it's perfect for the weather we're having here in Virginia. But it's back to work for me tomorrow, so it'll need to melt. :-)
Your house is also beautiful in the snow. Ferns in the summer are more fun.
A lovely descriptive poem. Enjoy the snow
Oh how beautiful and I have a passion for your front porch! Spring is coming though - this won't last forever!
Your home is just beautiful in the snow. Your home is beautiful no matter what the weather. We've had snow too. It is about melted now. Today has been brutal...cold with 30 mph winds blowing from the north west. Makes caring for the animals extra hard.
What a beautiful photo. It makes the snow look so peaceful. Not like my driveway with lots of frozen icy ruts. You have a great day, hugs, Edna B.
That's beautiful. Pretty as a Christmas card, you could make your own with that snow.
We have had a few really hard frosts that look like snow but for the past three days it's rained. The water is slowly covering the lawn. Might be time to start building an ark!
In the last couple of days, Colorado has been warmer than Florida; now it looks like Tennessee has more snow than Colorado. What's up with that?
