Seasons Changing

Over the last couple of days, the remains of hurricane Delta has taken away our sunshine.

The dark clouds linger overhead, making for dark and dreary days. If I didn't know the difference I would think we were in the depths of winter, even the house has taken on a different hue.

The days are noticeably shorter,  dark by 7:00pm now, the wild turkeys lead their flocks to the nightly roost late afternoon, and the last of the hummingbirds are leaving for their winter homes.

Orange pumpkins and Chrysanthemums are replacing summer blooms, now fading fast.

Yes, the days are growing much shorter, and I know that your weather should improve before winter actually gets here. :-)

Tonight is predicted to be 32 degrees and is our first chance for frost so after work I need to go out and pick the last of the tabasco peppers. Fall seems to fade to winter quicker each year.

Everything is getting ready for Winter. Even my little chipmunks are busy gathering up food to take back to their homes where they will hibernate for the Winter. But keep in mind, Spring can't be very far behind Winter. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

I don't mind it getting darker in the evening but don't like it dark in the morning.

Jo, I too have noticed how gloomy it is at around 4 in the afternoon. Not at all like autumn. Tonight it will be 32 degrees here in Indiana. Good-bye to those no-see-um's. They bite and we can not even sit on the porch. But the cold will take care of them hopefully. Our temps are dropping. But it will be in the 60's and I think that will be ok. I will miss all the flowers and birds. Blessings to you friend, xoxo, Susie

Warms my heart when you post a photo of an old treasure you have collected. There's something sad about the length of sunshine in a day shortening more and more. My heart always rejoices when after a dark and dreary winter, sunshine begin to lengthen it's stay again.
