Rainy Days And Mondays

I was up with the larks this morning, awakened by the sound of rain pelting against the windows, long before the morning light itself had appeared.
As much rainfall as we've had in the past couple of months, our Spring growing season, should be a healthy one.
No dried-up soils here.

" The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain.
This is the kind the anonymous medieval poet makes me remember, the rain that falls on a day when you'd just as soon stay in bed a little longer, write letters or read a good book by the fire, take early tea with hot scones and jam and look out the streaked window with complacency. "

I love that walkway. When it rains here, my driveway looks like a pond. It doesn't last long, but the birds and critters love it. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

"scones by the fire...." Cheryl thinks that sounds dreamy.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, I've learned about the different kinds of rain. I too love a cozy rain best of all. :-)

We are having nice cozy, soft, big-dropped rain drops here near St.Louis right now. So cozy, so difficult to stay awake. I saw the first robin of spring last Wednesday, so this is a rain to soften the ground and warm it up so the robins can find their worms. Maybe in the morning there will be a lot of robins hopping in my yard looking for their favorite food.

Jo, I dream of a rainy day like that. We had rain yesterday and today is an all day one. Too much with a snow coming in on it's heels. Gotta stay warm , only 25 more days till spring. Yahoo. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I like the look of green grass. We have a long time before we will see that.
