Just as the Arborvitaes were beginning to fill out from their last deer pruning, those naughty deer returned under the cover of darkness, and helped themselves.
How does something possess such beauty and grace, yet be so menacing.
It's a constant battle of us vs them.
So far they are the winners.

Oh good grief! You must be frustrated. Deer will eat just about anything, won't they!
I had no idea they would eat those. We have trouble with them eating our vegetable gardens.
Those deer are as bad as goats. What a pity they spoiled the tree....at least it is alive to grow out again.can you protect it?
Oh no, don't tell me they'll eat those too! That is one of the things they have not eaten in my back yard. I thought I was safe with those!
Munch, munch.... :)
They must be tasty to get munched down like that. :-)
My sympathies. Ours have been watching us from across the river. It's going to be war again this year, I know it.
I can't believe that they like that particular style of shrub. I have friends in the Des Moines are that have no landscaping because the deer heads feed on the continually.
