Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do
If you haven't got a ha'penny, then God bless you!
~ Tradition English nursery rhyme
We're having a blast of Arctic weather blow through in the next few days.
It's a rare occasion when the temperatures drop into the single digits.
Brrr.
Hope you are staying warm and cozy in your little corner of the world.

It is all so beautiful. I like your nutcracker in the photo.

My grandmother use to say that nursery rhyme
Merry Christmas
Looks like your ready for Christmas
Jo,
Your table looks lovely. I love that tablecloth and with the Friendly Village dishes, it is just perfect! Dianne
Such beautiful, beautiful decorations! Simply breathtaking!
Love old English Christmas Time quotes, and the like!
Single digits, rather amazing for you down South. Here, we have only gotten up into the teens in the day, and 0 and below 0 at night. Really brrrrr.....
Time for a small blanket and a puff, when I take my afternoon nap!!!!
And the bed at night, feels so like a warm cocoon, with flannel sheets, 2 blankets and a down puff on top!!!!!!
Winter has its delights, if we pay attention. :-)
Wishing you sparkles, and faerie lights, and sugar plum dreams!

I love everything I see in your pictures! Is that a soup tureen in the first photo with the birds on it? It is beautiful! -Jenn
Yes, a soup tureen 😉
Sadly I've never used it to hold soup, only to use as a decoration.

All of your decorations are so beautiful. I love the packages on the chair all ready for Christmas morning.
Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat.....my father used to recite that. Haven't heard it in years.
We are too getting an Arctic blast...from the Russian Steppes. Hope it warms up for Xmas day for you and us!
Our Arctic blast is coming from Canada, and with the wind chill it's 8°F here right now! Stay warm and safe, Jo. Love your posts. :-)
Ohhh everywhere looks so beautifully traditional and festive. I love it!. I remember my welsh nana continually repeating the nursery rhyme at Christmas when we were little...it brought back memories. Thank you

Jo, It looks so pretty at your house. I love the reds and your silver looks great. Blessings for a beautiful weekend. It's going to be a nasty cold one here. xoxo, Susie
