Autumn's Calling

"September days have the warmth of summer in their briefer hours,
But in their lengthening evenings a prophetic breath of autumn.
The cricket chirps in the noontide, making the most of what remains of his brief life.
The bumblebee is busy among the clover blossoms of the aftermath,
And their shrill and dreamy hum hold the outdoor world above the voices of the song birds,
Now silent or departed."-

So few people are familiar with Rowland Robinson. As a child in Vermont, I lived next door to folks who admired his work and read it aloud. I once made the pilgrimage with them to the Robinson homestead/museum.

Jo, I truly love autumn...but it can seem sad at times too. My mother use to love walking and seeing the color, then become blue thinking of winter coming on. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo,Susie

This Native Tennessean misses the four seasons-Fall being my favorite. Can't wait to be home again...for good:) Love your pictures. I want to have dinner at your table outside! Beautiful!

I have always admired this gate. I am afraid that fall is about to take us away.
