Oh my you have a cedar eating deer good thing ours don't eat these or we would hedgless here lol . Hope you can deter him away from that YUMMY greenery ! Thanks for sharing . Have a good weekend ! !
So beautiful but causes so much damage ! I have big fat pheasants squashing everything, but that is nothing compared to deer! Love your photos and quotes!
Oh dear, Jo, they really are a nuisance, aren't they? I think they're pretty creatures, too, but they will certainly ravage our lawns and gardens. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with them.
Oh my, what a shot! I have had them come up to my front door and peek in! Not shy at all! They are gorgeous and I love to see them, but not when they are enjoying dinner in my yard!
She sure trimmed that one for you! Looks like she is saying, did I do something wrong. The pictures in your last post are just beautiful. Makes we want to go right out and start working.
We too have a terrible deer problem. Even an 8 foot tall fence around our grape, pumpkin and berry patch doesn't keep them out. I've tried soap flakes and bars, repellents and scarecrows, radios. Seems only big dogs will work.
JO, You may have to try some natural deterrents to keep the deer at bay. That would make me crazy. I love to see animals...but do not want chipmucks, rabbits , or squirrels around young plants. The rabbit would be our worst plant eating animal...although there are deer in the woods a 1/4 mile away. Hope you can get something safe but that they do not like...may pepper seed or sprays. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Our deer problem has been ongoing for decades, oftentimes herds of thirty or more ramble through morning and night. They have acres and acres to feed off, but anytime shrubs and flowers are planted it's an "all you can eat buffet" to them, and a treat. *sigh*. We try to co-exist, but seems like the deer are winning ! ~Jo
We have friends in West Des Moines that have forgone growing anything in their yard. They are in the city but there is a lot of city with timber and they thrive in herds.

Deer are beautiful, but can be so destructive. Maybe there's something you can plant or something you can do to keep them away.

We have a good fence around our community garden, but many of us grouse about the roses the deers eat right to the ground! :-)

Rodents on hooves. Hate them with a passion!
I have a herd of 5 which regularly traverse my yard, eating as they go.
how beautiful ! I know you must be frustrated with the damage but I would love a 'visitor' like that.

Jo, have you tried leaving some apples out for this beauty. Maybe that would keep her from you lovely garden.
