Changes.

Our home will be void of it's Halloween porch decorations this season.
We are in the middle of some overdue renovation, all the porch-rails have been taken down, and columns stripped of paint, there is much work to do, and all as the weather has turned colder.
Oliver is not pleased, since the front-porch is where he sits atop his wicker stool, and keeps vigil against any intruders.
Change is not one of our strong points.

Yes, cats do not like to be forced to change their behaviors. I am sure he doesn't like it when you move furniture around inside either. I hope the renovation gets done before it gets really cold.

Yes, it has been my observation that cats like to find their "comfort zone" and stay there. Rather like most of us.:) The porch will add a touch of newness to your house. Great that you are beginning the work. We need to embark on a project or two around here, but haven't done so at this point.

Renovations are always tough but it will be worth it in the end. Hope it doesn't take too long.

Well here's to smooth sailing on your porch renovations.
I hope to see Oliver happily perched back on his porch view once when we see the new unveiling.

Hardly anyone does well with change. Especially privileged cats who know the world should be accommodating them! :-)

Your front porch is very similar to ours which is 6 foot wide and goes the length of the front of the house with square post and turned spindles similar to yours. The best of luck with your project

Poor Oliver. Perhaps some 'nip will distract him from his woes?

Don't you hate moving everything around for changes to be made. Your porch looks beautiful. Oh, and I love your potting shed. Your place makes me want to go right out and go to work in the yard.

First off, I love your porch. We have no such beast and I'm jealous.

Second, my many years old skeleton was hoisted up to hang from a tree and he decided he'd had enough. His body departed his head and fell to the ground and in the process one arm fell off.
Poor guy...
