A Cup of Tea
When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.
There is magic in its' fragrance,
There is solace in its' taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.
And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.
When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.
There is magic in its' fragrance,
There is solace in its' taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.
And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.

A cup of tea definitely has a bit of magic!
Had to brew a cuppa after reading this, Jo. Love the poem, love the sentiment. :-)
I totally agree with it! I always enjoy reading your poems, lovely.
What a heartwarming post, thank you! I think I need a cup of tea now.
Have a wonderful day!

Perfect, both words & picture!
How I envy tea drinkers, wish I liked it.
The kettle was always on at home & there always seemed to be a pot of tea ready. All family problems seemed to be solved over a cup of tea.
Now If I'd been born in hospital I'd have thought they had mixed me up with someone else's baby! A coffee drinking family's baby.
A cup of tea is just what I need on this cold winter day. I love the poem (it was written in the 1600s?).
Excuse me. I have to go have a cuppa now.
Love this sweet poem Jo. Hope you are well and safe. Looking forward to Spring and the flowers. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
This is great tea weather and a scone on the side would be good too.
