Pesky Squirrels
I peeked inside Mrs. Robin's nest over the weekend, she had laid three of the most beautiful blue eggs.
Today, this is all that remains.
Sad.
This is terribly sad. I too have had something destroy our Robin's eggs as well. In spite of this part of mother nature's cruel ways - hope you will have a lovely day.

Let's hope she has already relocated. I know the male robin is out there helping to get the nest built.
Damn squirrels.
I hope the robins can find somewhere safer. There is time for another clutch.
Nature can be cruel ! It could also be Grackles or Crows they do this to ! Hope Mr & Mrs Robin can relocate and all is well for them !
Oh.... boooo! Not good at all, Jo. That's just awful. :-(
It is sad and unfortunate--I hope the Robins will try again....
Oh my, that is very sad :( I do hope she's rebuilt somewhere else. Those squirrels are cute, but...! -Tammy
That's very unfortunate...I had no idea squirrels ate eggs?!
How sad! That "survival of the fittest" rule in nature is really hard to take sometimes.:-( Crows are not good to have around, either.
I just discovered your blog and love it!!!! so sad to hear about the eggs...
That is so sad. That egg must have been so beautiful. The colour is gorgeous.
Have a great day.
Jo,Squirrels are fun , but can be a big bother to birds and feeders. xo, Susie
