A Cup of Tea
When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.
There is magic in its' fragrance,
There is solace in its' taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.
And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.
When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.
There is magic in its' fragrance,
There is solace in its' taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.
And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.

One of my favorite poems and a beautiful warm and comforting photo to go with it. You always pick the perfect pairing Jo. I have just returned from the Philadelphia Flower Show and it was a British theme, so much fun. I will be sharing over the next several days. It is also snowing up a storm here finally. Time to go get a warm comforting cuppa :)
HA---I'm drinking a hot cup of tea right this minute---as I read your post. How 'bout that??????
Got any snow over there today? We have about 2 inches up here --and it's very very windy and cold... Doesn't feel as if spring will be here soon!!!! ha
Love your poem..

That is a wonderful poem and written long ago by a fellow countryman of mine ; )
I had never heard of it. Thank you so much for sharing.
There is nothing quite so satisfying as good cup of tea... :)
Love the poem! There is nothing more soothing than a nice cup of tea!
This is such an inviting scene and a pot of tea, a warm fire, a good friend to share it all with...well to me that's the perfect way to spend an afternoon. I wish I could transport myself to join you.
I love the poetry that so perfectly fits the occasion.
You brew SUCH a nice cup of tea and blog post. Thank you for inviting me along. :-)
Between the photo and the poem, I want a cup right now!
I've always loved that poem. It says it all, doesn't it?
Cheers!
