The gentle rains we had in April, stirred the flowers beneath the hardened soil.
So many flowers, a virtual orchestra, all blooming their individual colors, shapes and sizes at the same time.
It's lovely to see color once again in the garden.
"Winter is many months of the year
But now at last Maytime is here;
And birds sing from a leafy screen
In the trees and hedgerow freshly green;
And the wood-anemone is out in the shade,
With its blushing petals which too soon fade;
Once more the bracken is unfurling there,
And bluebells gently perfume the damp air."

A lovely post. I have always liked the flowers in the first photo. they look like the flowers that grow wild on the beach here.

Just beautiful. Everytime we pull up to the cabin I exclaim, "Look how beautiful the flowers are!" I love that feeling. I love spring.
Very clorful and pretty.......Id like to invite everyone to a post I've just published honoring the TV show "Big Valley", and also actor Peter Breck. Included with this post are 2 personal recipes that was sent to me by Peters wife Diane, so please stop by and say hello and share your memories of this classic TV show. Richard
Beautiful flowers Jo, such nice photo skills
What a beautiful post. The flowers are beyond comparison. And I am at a loss for words to describe.
Your lilies look wonderful. I really like the top one. I have never seen one like that before. I finally quit trying to grow blanket flowers. I have seen it growing in pretty harsh conditions in sand hills of Nebraska but I just can't get them started. I really like them. Great shot of the cardinal. That isn't easy.
Your photos are beautiful! May is a wonderful month, and you have captured some vibrant shots. I enjoyed the poem you shared as well.
Gorgeous flowers and beautiful photographs.
