"How innocent were these Trees, that in
Mist-green May, blown by a prospering breeze,
Stood garlanded and gay;
Who now in sundown glow
Of serious colour clad confront me with their show
As though resigned and sad,
Trees, who unwhispering stand umber, bronze, gold;
Pavilioning the land for one grown tired and old;
Elm, chestnut, aspen and pine, I am merged in you,
Who tell once more in tones of time,
Your foliaged farewell."-

Some of us have a frost warning tonight. Brrr! Some of the leaves are really getting pretty around here now, a ride down the Trace might be worthwhile!
What a beautiful picture--a lovely drive for sure :)

Hello Jo,
Beautiful photo and words...you always do a wonderful job of matching the two together. Things are looking more colorful here in our part of Kansas...the maples in town and in farmyards are looking beautiful but here on the farm we've got a ways to go before the elms have all turned. Won't be long though. I hope you have a wonderful Friday...take care.
Maura :)
Beautifully written...

Beautiful! A lovely country road to walk along. How I enjoy this time of the year. I enjoyed the poem too. Have a great day Jo.
Don't you wish you could tell every driver you pass to LOOK and SEE the beauty of this time of year?
The photo is breathtaking and the words paint an equally thoughtful and lovely picture. Ta!
Hugs!
