"The gilding of the Indian summer mellowed the pastures far and wide.
The russet woods stood ripe to be stripped, but were yet full of leaf.
The purple of heath-bloom, faded but not withered, tinged the hills...
Fieldhead gardens bore the seal of gentle decay; ... its time of flowers and even of fruit was over."

You must be a lovely woman!!
It shows in your pix.!!:))
Wish you a good weekend!!
How welcoming the pastures, woods, and gardens! How I'd like to hold on to them...
Just beautiful. I love Bronte.

what a fun idea, just like the pilgrims but better. you don't have to wear hats and long dresses and I bet the food is much better to. the table looks very pretty and i like the chairs a lot.
Wonderful post. Have a great weekend.
What a lovely scene!
The quote from Charlotte Bronte paints quite a tranquil picture. I can identify with the line, "The russet woods stood ripe to be stripped, but were yet full of leaf." All too soon the glorious colored leave will join the millions of nuts on the ground. Then we'll enjoy the view of heavenward reaching branches until spring.
Happy All Hallows Eve Eve!
Hugs!
Just lovely! It looks like a perfect day, too...
Beautiful - the words and the photo. These beautiful autumn days would be perfect for this! -Tammy
Pretty setting!
That looks so inviting. I can almost feel the breeze and smell the air from here.
We had some white on the roof tops this morning.
Nice verse. The table looks sweet, next time you have a picnic dont forget me
The picnic weather is just about gone...but it has been so beautiful this year the lovliness will linger in my mind long into winter. I admire your photography skills. I need lot more practice with mine and a new camera but I still have fun finding photo opps.:)
I would love to have this setting for a get together. It is so romantic.
I am following you and invite you to visit my blog. If you like it maybe you will follow me too.:)
What a wonderful (and delicious-looking) tribute to autumn.
Yes, put the kettle on indeed.
What a lovely place to come, and unwind.
Our blogs are similar in heart but not sight.
Loving and understanding all that you have put forth here, I can feel the tranquil moments of my life.
I have never been to England, yet I have a keen awareness about it.
I am glad you find solace in Tenn.
It has been a place my hubby and I thought of moving to, but not sure how friendly are the people.
So much to say in one evening but I am enjoying everything I see here.. and I love Beatrix Potter.
Can you tell me where the Anne Hathaway house is?
I added myself to your blog happily.. thank you for your graciousness.. Hugs, ♥Darlene xo
