Dreaming Of A Day At The Beach...

I'm craving a change of scenery.
I blame it on the seafaring British blood running through my veins. I feel landlocked.
I feel the need to sit here..

Sip this.
Buy these.

Feel this.

Smell this.

Watch this.

Oh me too! There is just something primal about the beach and the sea...

Your musing set me to daydreaming of the inland beaches around Michigan where I grew up. The memory conjures up the same nostalgia for carefree play, wandering the beaches for shells or driftwood and floating in the water naming cloudshapes in the sky. How sweet to consider.

Your hubby and better hide the car keys and it sounds like you my just vacate the place real soon. My wife and I took out trip to Duluth just that way. I said if we don't go in three days we will never get there. Water brings you back to your Maker and soothes you soul.

I love those rainbow chairs, too! They are wonderful. The reason my husband and I decided to retire on the west coast is because we both got that landlocked feeling in Colorado. And now, in the middle of a historic heat wave here in Washington state, being near the water moderates the worst of the effects.

I'm sipping right now! Love your pictures. Are those your own toes?

We moved here to Tn from south Florida. Sometimes I miss it-NEVER the extreme humidty though! Here at least we do not have to worry about the hurricanes which claimed our home in 2004!
I think I will just head down to the lake :)

Where land meets sea is a magical, ever-changing boundary, capable of restoring health, sanity, and soul.
Bon voyage, even if you only find it in your mind.

Yes you're right the sea is on our veins no doubt. It's probably the one thing I miss the most, apart from decent bacon! My trip to Chicago appeased me somewhat, as Lake Michigan felt like the sea. But I do miss the annual fortnight beach trip and day trips when the whim took me.

I know exactly how you feel. I come from a small island and, when I am away, I miss the sea the most. It runs in the blood of all islanders.

It's funny---I live on a huge lake, I live close to Lake Superior, and I still crave to also go to the ocean!
We go to a ocean beach vacation every winter because I love it so much! But I have to be on or near water all the time.

That was a lovely posting and great photos.

Oh yes, I love the sea too. We used to sneak along the beach after school despite dire warnings not to. The sound of the waves, the smells of the water and the sea weed and the sand between your toes. Plodging through rock pools and paddling in the waves with my skirt tucked in my knickers. Happy days!

When I was older I remember travelling to school in the next town by bus. The bus travelled along the sea front for about a mile and I remember looking out across the sea to the horizon thinking I could never live far from the sea or I would get claustrophobia.
