The Dog days Of Summer....

The Old Garden Bench.

The old wooden garden bench, half-crumbling away, sits silenty; with only a blanket of lichen
as it's companion.

Beautiful shot, I see the same lichen on many of the trees here. I would love one of those lovely benches in our back garden.

It makes a good photograph but that old bench is in need of some TLC.

There is an award for you at my place.

Jo, that photo put me in mind of a Tennessee fall day of which I AM SO READY for! HA!

Great find for a photo...loved it!
Someone needs to fix it back to life so people can sit on it and enjoy nature again!

The bench sits at the pond, I think I may be the only one who keeps it company.
I love the look of the lichen, the texture, and color, so I allow it to grow undisturbed.
I keep another English bench for serious sitting....no lichen, just a smooth surface for maximum pondering ;)

I love this shot....it's so peaceful and looks like it has a story to tell. Your blog is just beautiful. I've enjoyed all the pictures. I'm a neighbor, of the Alabama kind. Stop by if you have a chance.
Have a lovely weekend,

I have enjoyed every moment reading your blog. I have laughed, cried and taken trips down memory lane alongside of you. It has been a joy from start to finish. Wonderful stories and photographs. No wonder I cannot start my own blog as I get so caught up reading so many awesome blogs. Your home is absolutely gorgeous and your porch looks so inviting to stop by and have a cup of tea. Thank you so much for sharing. Linda

Hi There, We're home after a wonderful weekend in the gorgeous North Carolina mountains. I'll post in the morning.

Looks like that ole' bench hasn't been used as a bench in awhile....

Hope you had a great weekend.
