Computer Say No....

Over the past several weeks, I have tried to access several of my regular blog sites, only to be interrupted by a Internet Explorer window popping up announcing " Internet Explorer Cannot Open the Site. Operation Aborted".

I have reported this to Blogger, it appears several other people are also experiencing this same problem.

Just wondering if any of my bloggy friends, are plagued by the same annoying problem, and is there a fix ?

Thanks peeps.

I have the same problem on occasion lately. I keep trying and am able after a while to access the sites.

I haven't experienced this, but I have an Apple. I've owned both over the years, and find them quite similar in operation (you can go from one to the other fairly easily), but Apple is by far the best operating system from the standpoint of security issues.

Hi Jo, My advice is for you to download Mozilla Firefox and use that for your blog sites. It's FREE---and a great browser.. Many people are using it now instead of Internet Explorer.

We use it and never have your kind of problems.

Good Luck!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

These computers are fantastic tools UNTIL they decide to gooff on a tangent of their own. Trying to talk to them is meaningless...ha ha.

When this happens to me I usely let out a noise and say now what?

I'll try several times trying to call up a site, even push the refresh button. Sometimes it works. Be sure and not have too many windows open. This can cause problems.

If this doesn't work, I either give up til later or ask my hubby.

I wish you the best,
~D~

I was never allowed to use I/E at work because of the security issues, so I got used to Firefox at work, and then when I retired and I got an iMac, I downloaded Firefox on it. I also use Safari now and then. But I/E is filled with holes and allows viruses into your system. Just sayin'.

OK, I started to laugh at your blog title... seeing "Little Britain" in my mind's eye... "computer says No."

hahahahaha.

I hope you get this figured out soon. I no longer use IE... too unreliable. My girls put me on to Mozilla Firefox and that's my browser of choice now -- fewer problems.

Good luck! Get that computer to say YES!

I was experiencing this same problem at my favorite blog. I did not want to change my browser, IE needs to work. With much exploring around and personal communication with the blogger, they decided to change their comment facilitator. That cured the problem for me at their site. I haven't experienced it at too many other sites. I found the info at this link (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/iewebdevelopment/thread/334e42a4-241d-4ca0-9521-c805660921f8) helpful, but I tried all the suggestion and was getting the error. There is one post by ZeeBigTourist, at the end of the post that I think answers why it's happening, the problem is how do you blogger world to remove these widgets. The try, try again, method worked for me until the commenter was sorted out.

I was an art teacher for a long time but I evolved into our school tech director the past eight years or so. We had to switch many computers over to Firefox as the Internet Explore just wouldn't allow access, or had enough capability to deal with our area education sites that our teachers needed to reach. Downloading Firefox is quite easy and it is free.

The same problem happened to me about a couple of months ago. It was very frustrating but I had heard others had the same problem and it went away after a while. I was SO glad to get back to normal. Hopefully yours will sort it itself out soon if it hasn't already. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
