Scarlet Ball

"October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came-
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band."

~ October's Party, George Cooper.

I adore this. It's been raining here in central Ohio and a lot of beautiful leaves are now on the ground. I'm hoping for another wave of color before the last leaves are gone here.

We don't have much pretty color yet , not much rain.
But it did get very cool.

I LOVE the poem :) and the sight of those trees. I left NY before seeing Autumn, that was one of the best parts about living Upstate.
