Treasured Memories

I love Irish lace and crocheted curtains, that timeless look just captivates me.
It reminds me of looking through my grandma's kitchen-window, and watching her work in the rhubarb patch out in her garden.
Surrounded by a weather-worn picket fence, wearing her apron, and the family Corgi by her side.
I've treated myself to a beautiful pair of intricately crocheted panels, I swear I can smell rhubarb and custard simmering in the kitchen.

Oh Jo, the lace is exquisite. I've never had a rhubarb and custard pie, but I sure would love to have some.

Whenever I have been home I have noticed that people still have the net curtains at the windows. It is intricately British is it not. I wonder if people still do that. I know I do. I brought a bunch home when Mum died that she had in her airing cupboard. I gave some to my daughter. I still love lace curtains. Yes they do stir the memories.

Jo, Those are beautiful. I absolutely love lace curtains. You get all the light, but softened by the lace. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
p.s. I have never tasted rhubarb pie.

I really don’t know much about crochet. My mom did a clunky kind of thing to make doilies. The Irish lace really is a special thing from what I see here. My wife had an aunt the crocheted and gave us some things.
