March Surprise

So despite the rise in temperatures these last few weeks, with plants emerging, and flowers blooming, we were hit with another round of snow last night. No accumulation in our neck of the woods, but a little further north, merely a hop, skip and a jump over the state line, snow blanketed the landscape once again.

The shops are displaying their summer wares. Beautiful gardening goods, shovels, spades and digging forks, all nicely decorated with butterflies and ladybugs, just waiting for eager hands to partake.
New bird houses and baskets filled with flower seeds of endless varieties.

Easter is just around the corner, I hope those kiddos can avoid wearing their overcoats when they are busily egg-hunting.

Yes the east coast is getting slammed again with snow . We here in southwestern Ontario Canada aren't as far along as you with spring flowers and temps but we are coming along nicely , it has been sunny every day and mild and there is no snow left , almost all of our spring birdies are back and yes stores and garden centers are ramping up for the warmer season of gardening which I cant wait for, I love getting my hands in the dirt of my gardens . Thanks for sharing , lovely photo .

Yes, us too. Snow expected in Central Il later this week. But I laugh in it's face. Ha Ha Ha Ha and worked in the garden anyway. Spreading old compost. pulling old plants, fixing the garden fence. It felt fabulous!

Ours is coming today in the form of rain. It's warm and we've reached our high temperature for the day already. Wind and rain for us! I'll take it over snow. :-)

I don't remember the last Easter that winter coats weren't worn over Easter dresses! haha. Hopefully this year! Even this winter loving girl is ready to open the windows and put away the mittens!

It snowed here all day yesterday! Today was sunny but cold and windy. I'm sure hoping for some warm weather, and soon!

Sun was out today, still snow to melt but in some patches of dirt I do see some buds coming up.....no snowdrops though, not yet..........so maybe I will get some seed packets and plant some basil. Yes I can do that.
Enjoy the sunshine

Jo, Your post brought back memories. I always hated wearing my winter coat over my new Easter outfit as a kid, and so did my own daughters. We are right now missing a lot of the snow that stated here in the wee hours in Indiana...but we will get some, just not as much. Blessings to you for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie

This has been the strangest winter, especially for those on the East coast. We even had snow on the ground in the Houston area! Not to make you jealous, but I was out in my garden this weekend ;-)

I think here in the UK it will be a wet Easter ... the grandchildren may just be having an indoor Easter Egg Hunt!

All the best Jan

Yes, we may not have snow, but it is going to rain. Our church is giving out 15,000 eggs filled with candy near where we live.
