Nesting

"Surely everyone is aware of the divine pleasures which attend a wintry fireside; candles at four o’clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair tea-maker, shutters closed, curtains flowing in ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind and rain are raging audibly without."

 ~ Thomas De Quincey 1796

I LOVE this. We are expecting up to 6 inches of snow tonight and this is just the sentiment needed to snuggle in and feel cozy.

Love that cute cozy scene... that's the type of scene I'd love to be able to watercolor.

That's not unlike here, although these days (for safety reasons) we have replaced the open fire with a wood-burner.

From the first time you posted this picture some years ago, I have saved it. I keep it in a tab on my desk top computer. Christmas a year ago, 2019, you loaded a Christmas tree in your sidebar which landed juxtaposed beside the cozy scene appearing to be a window through which I could see their Christmas tree. I was hoping that would happen again this past Christmas, but it floated way above, and then, sadly, disappeared after the holidays. I really enjoyed it, because I can't manage a Christmas tree for several years now. Thank you for posting again. It is one of the few things that have kept me centered and sane during years of deep grief. If I can't get to sleep, I visualize this warm scene, and sometimes it works. Thank you.

I love when you post that picture. I just want to crawl right in front of the fire with the little mouse family. On Friday, Poppy said, let's build a fire this weekend...here it is Sunday night and we never got around to enjoying a fire. We did get the bedroom painted though.

So very cozy! We are going to get rain and snow (maybe) where I live. Unusual for us as we live in the desert!!

There's something about fire light that makes a dark space so cozy.

That was my day on Sunday. Fresh snow today in Michigan and it's beautiful.

I wonder if "fair tea-maker" refers to someone who makes tea fairly well, or a "fair" (pretty) tea-maker? Either way, it's a win-win! *wink*

It is a cozy scene with the mice warm inside.
