I only hope if it's a hardwood, some local woodworker who appreciates old-growth wood will be allowed to cut it for his use - and not to cut in tiny pieces for bird houses! How poignant.<br /><br />I wonder if the house in the picture has been empty since that huge tree sprouted? Surely no one would plant such a tree that close to the house.<br /><br />I have a number of pieces of furniture that belonged to my parents, grandparents, and two pieces from my great-grandparents.
