Oliver Update (2)

SUNDAY UPDATE: June 28 2020
Oliver is still not eating , I am force-feeding with nutritional supplements, he shows interest in strong smelling food, but refuses to partake.
Thankfully he is drinking water, and chicken broth.
No pneumonia, of which I'm grateful.
I've been sitting him in his cage, outside on the covered porch for an hour or two morning and night, it seems to perk him up.
We continue to fight...……
Thank you for your continued healing-wishes.
                                                                          🌻

Thank you for all of your prayers and well-wishes for Oliver's recovery.
I'm ecstatic to share with you the news, that I was able to bring him home last night, his temperature has returned to normal and despite being several pounds lighter, the vet felt it best for him to recuperate in his own familiar environment.
He is not out of the woods yet, I have yet to entice him to eat, although thankfully he is drinking water now.
He returns to the veterinarian's office on Saturday for an examination, and keeping our fingers crossed all goes well.
He's been through the mill this boy, I'm so proud of him.
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and support.💗💗

Jo, I've been following along and praying for Oliver, but haven't commented. So glad to hear that he seems to be on the mend. I had to look up 'bobcat fever' as throughout my years of working as an AMT, I had never heard of it. But from what I read, he is lucky to be recovering. Know he is getting the best of care!

Once they start drinking water again, that is a VERY good sign. Our poor Rasha had pneumonia and became dehydrated. The vet gave her an injection, but that eventually wore off. Cheryl had to "force" her to drink! But when Rash finally did, she made a full recovery. That cat had 9 lives! And used up every one of them over several occasions. Best wishes Oliver! He looks so much my Red. ( my favorite cat!) Full Recovery ahead!

When we had a cat that was quite ill and wouldn't eat, we finally resorted to feeding him baby food. At first we filled an empty syringe with it and shot it in his mouth. He wasn't happy but it was so important that he ate.

Forti Flora sprinkled on food helps spark an interest in eating.
We buy it at our vets office when our cats have had various troubles.
Continued prayers.

When my cat, Andee, was getting older and refusing to eat anymore, I gave him raw chopped turkey and beef filet for his meals. That gave him another three years of a good quality life. I wish you well on doing whatever works. You and Oliver are always in my thoughts. Take care.
