Snow Day

We awoke this morning to a winter wonderland.
Soft, wet snowflakes, blanketing the ground, cocooning us in a world of silence.
No accumulation, it's as if Mother Nature took her powdered sugar shaker, and gave the landscape a sprinkling.
Magical.

Out of the cloud-folds of her garment shaken,
Over the woodlands, brown and bare
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.

~~By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.~~

Your snow photos are beautiful. We got a sprinkling of snow earlier, but today the rain is coming down at a pretty good clip. Pretty soon, the heavy winds will be here, then the wicked cold temps will be back. Well, at least the weather doesn't get boring around here. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
p.s. That's such a lovely poem.

This weather doesn't know what it wants to do. So far this week we've had hot and cold weather, rain with flash flooding, and now snow. I wonder what's next? LOL

So beautiful Jo! Our snow is melting away today, though I'm sure we'll get more before Spring. Enjoy your Snow Day!

Thank you for the lovely photos of our snow day, Jo. Shall we all invite the meteorologist
over for a cup of tea and a piece of our mind for the convoluted weather of late?

Oh, it's so pretty! We haven't seen the first flake of snow this winter, yet. Storms were all around late yesterday. I LOVE that picture of Oliver and the little animals in their "Sleepover".

Looks nice when there's not too much. We got another 25 cm (12") today. Great shot of the cardinal.

Lovely snow scapes. I don't have to look much further than my kitchen window to see snow. We are really ready for warmer weather.

Here on the Island we received about 4 inches. But the cold temperatures are keeping us indoors despite the sun. A high of 12 degrees expected today. I am lazy and still in pjs! Love your pictures and the poem.💖
