Winter Days

We are surely in the nesting phase of Winter, cold, wet and more cold.......
The kind of cold that makes you want to snuggle inside, and cocoon from the outside world.
Stay warm and safe dear friends.

"Surely everyone is aware of the divine pleasures which attend a wintry fireside; candles at four o’clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair tea-maker, shutters closed, curtains flowing in ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind and rain are raging audibly without."
 ~ Thomas De Quincey 1796

What an apt description for today in TN, Jo, but I was able to come upon your galvanized house in a
shop close by and thanks to your
inspiration, it now spreads its lighted warmth in our home despite
the gloom of the day. Many thanks
for all the loveliness you share.

He said this over 200 years ago and it is still true today.

This has got to be one of my favorites. I love the picture and the words are so so true. Perfect for this gloomy rainy day...except it's not really cold.

It is a cozy scene as the mice stay inside. The one mouse in the chair needs to move his tail.

I love the quote and the cozy scene. There's no wintery weather headed our way for at least two weeks.

Great quote from De Quincy. Winter needs are the same in 2020

I was drawn in, by your words, quote and lovely illustration.

I so agree, with this time of year, being Hibernation Time. It feels so right!

Enjoy the coziness and peace, of home...

Oh my, I absolutely love love that picture. Winter is when we find lots of indoor crafts to keep us busy as we wait for Spring to get here. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

I am hoping for snow! But when it comes, I wonder if I'll wish it hadn't?

Stay warm and safe, and enjoy these days of winter! Take care!
