Cottage Love

The cottage homes of England
   By thousands on her plains,
They are smiling o'er the silvery brooks,
   And round the hamlet-fanes.
Thro' glowing orchards forth they peep,
Each from its nook of leaves,
And fearless there the lowly sleep,
As the bird beneath the eaves

I would love to see the cottage homes in England. One of my favorite movies is "The Holiday". I loved the cottage home Amanda stayed in. Of course I fell in love with Jude Law. :)

I agree that it’s a lovely looking home and suspect the interior is much the same. The poem was a good accompaniement as well.

I really wonder if those houses originally had straw and mud in their cavity and as time went by the bricks replaced it. I like the look but I had to be difficult to fill in the squares.

Not another house in the world looks so homey to me as an English cottage!
