National Cat Day

Today is National Cat Day.
Most of my readers are aware we have two cats that are a huge part of our family here in Tennessee.
Both cats chose our humble little abode, to call their own, and watching their antics, and sharing our days with these two sweeties, brings many smiles to our faces.
Oliver is the marmalade and white boy, and is approximately nine years old, and then along came Tom-Tilly, a tiny little girl who literally lived beneath my potting shed, and is now four years old.
We originally thought she was a 'he' and we named him Tom-Kitten, you can read about her story here: http://abritintn.blogspot.com/2014/07/tom-kitten.html
We love them both dearly.

Is your girl feral? Or does she live in your house now?

They are both so pretty, I always enjoy seeing them in your posts.

What PRETTY KITTIES. I so miss having a cat but with our life upheaval and not knowing where we are going to end up we didn't get another cat after we had to let our last one 'go'. So sad. Plus we have family that is terribly allergic to cats so it is kind of...family or cats? Some days I wonder if I made the right choice....lol

Have a great week. Diana

One of the loveliest things ever...a cat up a tree...
But will a cat come down from a tree on its own?
A cat can be so filled with fright that it doesn't
realize it's capable of climbing down on its own.
Also the curved claws of a cat work well for climbing
up a tree trunk, but to climb down, the cat has to climb
backwards down the trunk. This is not so easy for some cats
to do naturally....!
Bless them! Love'em to bits...! 😺 😻 😼

Jo, You know Oliver is my favorite of the two. I love cats. My daughter Liz has two also. We gave her our stray that came here...but she did not like Liz's two and ran away. They live in a cluster of farms ..so I think Stormy found a new home. Growing up we had a male cat, we called him Kitty -Tom. He lived 17 years. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

They are both beauties. We lost our last cat 8 years ago & I miss them. Now I'm fostering a couple of kittens for a lady who rescues cats. It will be hard to give them back.

Oh I love Oliver Cat and Tom Tilly. I remember when Tom Tilly showed up at your home. I did not know about National Cat Day, and will have to tell Smokey and Dumperoo...and open another can of food for them. :)

I swore after my heart was broken when my Snowy died that there would be no more cats. That lasted about a year and now I have Jack. He looks a lot like your Tom. Cats are such great companions.

The gray kitty is so pretty. The Oliver is a perfect specimen of a cat. I can see it is fun when they do relate to each other and live peacefully.
