Floating Along

Another day of rain.
Six inches of the stuff, the ground is soaked.
It seems as though an entire Summer's rainfall has fell in one week.
Even Freddie the frog has taken to higher ground.

Cold, wet leaves
Floating on moss-colored water
And the croaking of frogs -
Cracked bell-notes in the twilight.

I have a similar frog like that but no place to put it at this point of time. My oldest son things I should go buy a pond and Menards.

What a great shot. We had a toad show up one year but he didn't stay.

Jo, The wee frog on the back of the frog statue make me smile. That is a lots of rain. I really do not like to get heavy rains. We just went thru a similar situation...draught like summer and then the long day after day rains. Stay safe. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Another lovely poem, always love them on your blog. And that frog duo? Too cute. we've had a little more rain up here in Illinois but not as much as you.
