August Days

August has begun with cooler temperatures, and breathtaking sunsets.
Schoolchildren return to classes, the days now eerily quiet.
County fairs are in full swing, fun, food and frolic.
Summer days seem noticeably shorter.
The ebb and flow of seasons continue.

Your photos are stunning. I especially like the morning glory. What a gorgeous blue and the wagon wheel on the fence. Very nice. Even here in Colorado there is a wee touch of fall in the early morning air.

Love your garden gate, I've been thinking about getting one too. But now I want one that looks just like yours!

Your photos are beautiful, Jo. I want to walk through that sweet white gate and see what's on the other side. And those morning glories. :)
As much as I love summer i am happy to be done with July. It's been too hot and the mosquitoes are at their worst now. August will bring us a small harvest from our garden and hopefully some cooler days. Hugs, Deb

I like the shorter days, since I'm a morning person and it takes forever in midsummer for the sun to go down. Love your pictures and the serenity of your yard. :-)

Your place is heaven! So lovely to see your flowers.
Poor kids they start school earlier every year now.
I liked Sept to June when we went as kids.

School used to be book-ended with closing by Memorial Day and re-opening just after Labor day and seemed so much more in keeping with the seasons. Sitting at a desk all day while it is still Summer? What were they thinking?

Jo, I loved all your photos. I still can't believe it's August already and that some schools are in session. One more week for kids here. Your flowers seem to be going strong. I love the beautiful colors. We have had deer running out of the corn fields here. My husband says coyotes must be running them in the middle of the day. Scary. Blessings to you for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie

I sooo enjoy your pictures, poems, scenery and blog in it's entirety. All of your pictures are outstanding. Would love to live in Tennessee, if the whole state is as pretty as you post. I have a cousin who lives in Soddy Daisy, Tenn. Have never been there. Have an enjoyable weekend. Look forward to more of your delightful posts.

Wish it was as beautiful here. I'm losing all my grass due to drought conditions and it is almost no sense to water on my day with triple digit heat.

These are all wonderful photos. I am envious of your climate and yet sometimes they seem to be similar ones.
