Hello Summer

"Spring flew swiftly by, and summer came; and if the village had been beautiful at first, it was now in the full glow and luxuriance of its richness. The great trees, which had looked shrunken and bare in the earlier months, had now burst into strong life and health; and stretching forth their green arms over the thirsty ground, converted open and naked spots into choice nooks, where was a deep and pleasant shade from which to look upon the wide prospect, steeped in sunshine, which lay stretched out beyond. The earth had donned her mantle of brightest green; and shed her richest perfumes abroad. It was the prime and vigour of the year; all things were glad and flourishing."

~Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist

I wish it were true that "all things are glad and flourishing." The news has me down and I fear for the little ones. :-(

So pretty Jo!! It looks overcast where you are too. It's overcast here in northern Indiana with a high predicted of only 71 degrees today. It's 68 now and my hot coffee tastes mighty good. Blessings upon your day, Andrea xoxo

Every morning (unless it's pouring rain like it has been) my hubbie and I walk our gardens. We get so rushed during the day but in the am when we've only had one cup of coffee, we stroll and enjoy. Summer is short...just like life in general. Wonderful quote Jo.

This is just beautiful! I should remember these words as I look outside now that summer is truly here and see the beauty, instead of feeling like we are living in the rain forest and smothered with trees. Your posts are the most touching, pictures and words.
